Bandipur Tiger Reserve is one of the famous for wildlife destination. Bandipur National Park and Tiger Reserve is situated in Mysore (Nanjungud and H.D.Kote taluks) and Chamarajanagar (Gundlupet taluk) districts of Karnataka state and lies between the North Latitudes 110 35' 34" and 110 55' 02" and between the East Longitudes 760 12' 17" and 760 51' 32". It is home to around seventy tigers and over three thousand Asian elephants (as per the 1997 census [1]), along with leopards, dholes, gaur and sloth bears. Bandipur is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.


    In Bandipur national park there are number of Tigers.  Bandipur is home to Leopard, Asiatic Wild Dogs, Striped Hyenas, Jackals, Jungle Cats, Leopard Cats, Rusty Spotted Cats, Palm Civet, Small Indian Civets, Otters and four different species of Mongooses (the common stripe necked, brown and ruddy mongooses), Gaur, Sambar, Cheetal, Muntjac, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Four-Horn Antelope, Pangolin, Indian Porcupine, Fruit Bat, Spender Loris, Langur, Bonnet Macaque, Wild Pig, Black naped Hare and variety of reptiles such as Rock Python, Cobra, Marsh Crocodile, Monitor Lizard, Rat Snake, Wolf Snake, Common Krait, Russel's Viper Bamboo Pit Viper and Green Keel Back are also found here.

    Safari timings and charges  are indicative and may change any time, they  may cancel in last minutes due to bad weather conditions, heavy rains, non-availability of vehicles, manpower, etc.


    Bandipur National Park’s altitude between 680-1454 meters and is situated south of the kabini river at the foothills of the Western Ghats. The rivers of kabini, nagur and moyar flow through the reserve.



    Winter minimum 10, summer maximum 28 degrees, monsoon from june to September.
    Best time to visit: open throughout the year  but preferably in monsoon when wildlife is plenty and forest is green. Greenery is quite lean when viewed from road but gets thicker as we proceed into the forest.


    Getting There
    Bandipur National park is easily accessible by Air, Rail and Road.

    Nearest Airport is in Mysore (70 Km) and Bengaluru International Airport (260 Kms).

    The nearest Railway Station is Mysore City Railway Station (80 Km).


    Buses and taxis can be hired from any nearby city or town. All Buses halt at Bandipur Campus.

    Day 01: Bangalore - Bandipur National Park
    In morning our representative will pick up you at railway station or airport and drive to Bandipur National Park. Situates between the foothills of western ghat and nilgiri mountains. Upon arrival check in at wildlife resort. Rest of the day leisure to enjoy the calm serenity of the forest resort. Dinner and overnight stay at resort.

    Day 02: Bandipur National Park
    Today we will wake a little early and get ready for our first Jungle experience to spot the wildlife.
    Later return to the resort for fresh-n-up and breakfast. After breakfast it's time to enjoy the serenity around the resort or one can participate in the various house activities. After lunch we will again get ready for wildlife exploration & birding within the periphery of the national park. This we will be on foot and will be doing a guided walk to explore its amazing wildlife. Later in the evening return to the resort. Evening enjoy the activities offered by the resort. Dinner and overnight stay at resort.

    Day 03: Bandipur - Bangalore
    Morning after breakfast we will visit Venugopala Swamy temple at Himavad Gopala swamy Betta. It is a hill located at a height of 1450m and is extensively wooded. It is also the highest peak in the Bandipur National Park. The view from here is worth viewing. It lies in the core area of the Bandipur National Park and is frequented by wildlife including elephants.
    Return to the resort for fresh-n-up & breakfast. After breakfast leave for Bangalore.
